In November 2023, our team revisited the charming town of Umuevu to assist the underprivileged. The lively dirt streets of the town always keep us engaged. Unfortunately, our anticipated delivery of over-the-counter medication was delayed in transit.
Instead of canceling our annual mission, we decided to switch gears and provide essential meals to the local community. Collaborating with local representatives, we distributed basic food items such as rice, beans, cooking oils, and more. Our objective was to support both the ill and those in need of sustenance. Once again, we were moved by the overwhelming demand and urgency of the locals.
Families stood in line eagerly, enduring the intense summer heat. We utilized the waiting time to engage with each family individually, and also reached out to a local pastor to offer prayers in a language that resonated with them.
Approximately 50 families were assisted by us, receiving a week's supply of essential ingredients to meet their nutritional requirements. The families arrived in large numbers, transporting sacks of goods by hand and truck to their faraway residences.
All the glory belongs to God! We believe that He utilized this change in perspective to address a different, yet significant requirement for the residents of Umuevu.
